I am not a police officer, can I join the LOA-FLA? Yes The LOA-FLA is open to both law enforcement officials and civilians.
How much is it to join the LOA-FLA?
$40 annually for law enforcement officials. $30 for civilians/associate members.
Do I have to be Latina/Latino to join the LOA-FLA? No. The LOA-FLA does not have restricted memberships. Regardless of your ethnicity, religion, and gender, you are welcome to become a part of the LOA-FLA. We welcome all who support our mission.
Is the LOA-FLA strictly a law enforcement organization? No, in addition, the LOA-FLA is an advocacy group. We instruct people on what their rights are with police officers, so that interactions between law enforcement and civilians can be handled effectively.

Business Council Committee:
This committee is made up of Florida business's that support our mission statement. The Council aid the LOA-FLA in obtaining financial support with it's objective concepts for the Latino
community.
Political Action Committee:
This Committee is responsible for obtaining the latest information concerning political situations and events that effect the organization and the community. In addition, the committee maintains significant lines of networking throughout the political community.
Legal Services and litigation Committee:
This Committee is responsible for the constant maintenance and update of all legal matters the organization has an interest in. The committee is also responsible for keeping parties directly
subject to litigation, abreast of all details and dispositions. The Committee will also handle all Class Action Suits on behalf of the membership. Attorney services provided courtesy of the
Latino Officers Association when the subject of the litigation entails a group that seeks the same legal remedy (Class Action Litigation).
Membership Committee:
This Committee is responsible for the review and approval of all new members and chapters who apply to the Latino Officers Association Florida for membership and affiliation.
Compasión En El Barrio:
The Committee will create the sponsorship,organization, parades, events, and los Reyes for the LOA-FLA. It will also support the Latino community within areas of orphans, homeless, troubled youth, sick kids in the hospital & unwed mothers.
Watch Dog Committee:
The duty of the committee is to keep a data base of information on Florida law enforcement agencies and their disciplinary policy on Hispanic's. Once information reaches a level of concern
the L.O.A will take action in the protection of it's members..
Latino Police Rating System (LPRS) Committee:
The committee review Florida Police Agencies with regard to the U.S. Census report and the Latino Community. The Committee reviews informaiton obtained by the Police agencies and scores the agency.
As of 10/01/08, any non-member & member not in good standing (Member who has not renewed as of 10/01/08) who requests the assistance of the LOA-FLA for ANY incident, will be charged a fee of 1 year dues of $40.00 plus $40.00 LOA-FLA membership application fee for a total of $80.00 - NO EXCEPTIONS. All membership dues will be due in the month of October.
